Virtual Care 101: What Dr Kintu Can and Can't provide Over the Phone
These are the qualifying and disqualifying visits for Dr. Wasswa-Kintu.
1) Dr. Wasswa-Kintu will renew prescriptions for stable medical conditions like hypertension, Diabetes, thyroid disorders, asthma among others. However, there will be medications that will not be renewed in telehealth as per details below on disqualifying medication list.

Telephone visits cannot assess all medical visits because many require examination and taking off specimens like strep throat swabs, among other reasons, to achieve optimal diagnosis and related management.
Medical Conditions that will NOT qualify for telehealth:
Strictly “NO”
1) No respiratory related visits including cold symptoms like sore throat and cough as they need in-person exam.
2) No pregnancy related visits.
3) No mental health related visits as quite often in-person encounter along with questionnaire in some selected cases help to achieve optimal assessment of a patient and related treatment plan.
Examples of Medical conditions that will qualify fir telehealth:
UTI, STD symptoms, eye infections and localized skin conditions must be accompanied by photos. Please DO NOT send any private areas or anal photos.
Medications that do not qualify for telehealth:
Strictly “NO”:
1) No Opioids including Tylenol #3
2) No sleeping pills of any type.
3)No Benzodiazepines.
3)No ADHD meds
4)No Cannabis
Imaging:
No imaging will be requested, that includes x-rays, Ultrasounds, CT scan or MRI. This is because any imaging requires to examine a patient in-person before imaging is requested.
