Gary Prihar, CPA, CA
President and Co-Founder
Gary Prihar is the President and Co-Founder of Viva Care. Mr. Prihar is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with over 10 years of finance, audit and business consulting experience and has served as a Financial Controller for a TSX.V listed organization.
Gary began his career with Grant Thornton and Cinnamon Jang Willoughby as an audit practitioner working with clients in both Canada and the United States. Gary is responsible for operational change management, including improving and developing business processes and performance management through key performance indicators within the Company.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
Dr. Garry Saran
Vice President of Operations and Co-Founder
As Vice President of Operations and Co- Founder of Viva Care, Dr. Garry Saran is primarily responsible the day to day operations of all of the Viva Care clinics. Dr. Saran is the co-founder of Viva Care, which was established in 2009.
Prior to this role, Dr. Saran was in private practice for the past 10 years, in both Beverly Hills, California and Surrey, British Columbia.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in General Science from the University of British Columbia and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Southern California University of the Health Sciences.
Vice President of Business Development
As Vice President of Business Development, Lucy Xie is responsible for Tasly Viva Care new medical service model research and development. Her areas of responsibility include marketing department and HR department for the company.
Prior to this role, Lucy worked for Tasly Group for more than 12 years in International business management and marketing exploitation.
Lucy Xie holds a Bachelor degree of International Pharmaceutical Trade from China Pharmaceutical University and a master degree of MBA from Nankai University. She also holds Diploma in Sales and Marketing Management from Sauder Business School from the University of British Columbia.
Chief Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer of Tasly Vica Care, Canace Chi is in charge of strategic financial planning and capital management of the company, and oversees the overall financing activities including fund raising, corporate investment, and asset allocation, etc.
Prior to this role, Canace worked for Tasly Group for more than 20 years and held various position in the finance area, both domestically and internationally. With extensive experience in international healthcare management and corporate finance, Canace is empowered to act as a CFO with a global insight of the market.
Canace holds an associate degree in accounting and is a certified public accountant by the CICPA.
Dr. Tarek Khalil
Dr. Tarek Khalil recently joined Viva Care and is currently with the Port Coquitlam clinic. Dr. Khalil has a Masters Degree in Public Health (Health policy and management major) from the reputable Emory University, Atlanta GA. He has over 19 years of diverse clinical experience in acute care, primary health care, chronic disease management and quality improvement. He improved the management of clinics and the manner in which they provide health care delivery by using six sigma and various other innovative tools.
Dr. Khalil is an advocate of quality health care that adopts a patient centered approach to address all factors that potentially impacts patient's health and level of function.
Dr. Khalil has been the Medical Director of Viva Care since November 2015.
Director of Marketing
As Director of Marketing of Viva Care, Aleem Teja is primarly resposible for overseeing the day to day clinic growth and overall marketing for Viva Care. Aleem joined Viva Care in 2012 and has taking on more of a leadership role and eventually becoming the Director of Operations in December 2014 and then Director of Marketing in March 2017.
Prior to this role, Aleem worked within the public health sector for 15 years with various government entities including Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Provicial Health Services Authority and BC Women's & Children's Hospital.
Aleem holds a Bachelor's Degree in Heath Information Science from the University of Victoria and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois.
Human Resource Manager
Sindy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree - Major in Accounting as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management.
She joined VIVA CARE in 2013 as an Executive Administrator and Assistant to the Finance Department. Her role has changed primarily to Human Resource Management.
Prior to her joining VIVA CARE, she worked for a Computer Programming and Library Automation Company for 14 years where she was involved in Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
Himan Parmar holds a Pharmacy Technician and Medical Office Assistant Dioploma. Before joining Viva Care Medical Group she worked in many different walk-in-clinics, specialist offices and hospital settings where she handled hospital billings. She started with Viva Care in 2012 as a part time MOA and then eventually became full time in August 2012. Himan was permoted to Viva Care Clinic Supervisor in December 2014 and then became the groups Billing Manager in April 2017.
Her role is to oversee all clinic billings for Viva Care to ensure accuracy and meet college and government standards.
Harinder Badesha is an accountant with Viva Care who primarily works within the payroll and accounts sector. She handles a variety of roles within the area, including billing and bookkeeping. She joined Viva Care in May 2017 handling the role of an accountant for the company ever since.
Prior to this position, Harinder worked in a CPA firm as a payroll and bookkeeping clerk. She also has various experiences in both courier and retail positions ranging from sales to management.
Harinder holds a Bachelor in Science from Punjab University, and a Diploma in Finance from Douglas College, British Columbia. She also has a Diploma in Accounting.
Wendy Wu is an accountant at Viva Care, where Wendy processes record of revenue from start to finish, including receiving cash & cheques from clinics, depositing, calculating subcontracting, keeping book, providing AR/AP report. Wendy has worked with reputable Tasly Group for many years.
Wendy help many branch companies of Group to develop financial management system and complete finical statements. You may rest assured to work with Wendy. She will never let you down.
Wendy holds a Master of Engineering Economics and Management from the Tianjin University and is a member of International Financial Management Association.
Nadia holds a degree in bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Dow Medical College, Pakistan.
Worked as a Medical resident in the Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Civil Hospital Karachi and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.
Worked as an Doctors Assistant and billing administrator in various clinics to gain Canadian clinical experience.
Joined Viva care in sept 2017 and is working as a billing co-ordinator for Viva Care.
